When drilling prefabricated wood components with a pneumatic feed, using an oil brake cylinder to regulate the feed movement prevents the wood from tearing when the drill exits. In this application, an internal reset of the oil brake cylinder must also be implemented, which rules out standard oil brakes.

The piston rod of the oil brake cylinder is connected to the actuator cylinders. During the feed, oil is pressed from the piston rod side via a throttle into the second cylinder tube, which is fitted with a separating piston. This is pressurized with a constant pneumatic pressure. During the return stroke, the separating piston pushes the oil back into the cylinder chamber via a check valve.
