Our services

Technical and functional specifications

Based on the customer's requirements, we draw up a technical and functional specification for the planning and realization of a series product in the early phase of the project. Thanks to our more than 35 years of project experience, we are able to set the right priorities, avoid unnecessary iterations and significantly reduce time-to-market.

Software and firmware

We program software and firmware at the microcontroller level. We integrate suitable interfaces as well as update options and implement wireless connections via 433MHZ, WLAN or Bluetooth. We also equip products with a user interface: display, button and key switch or joystick.

Obsolescence management

The discontinuation of components is a problem that affects the electronics industry. We already take this issue into account during development. For critical components, we qualify a replacement solution wherever possible. In the event of a discontinuation, we prepare a replacement proposal and can also qualify this with a sample production at short notice.

Circuit diagram and layout design

We work closely with the customer to create layouts and circuit diagrams using the professional software Altium Designer. The 3D visualization of the printed circuit board and the virtual integration into the mechanics of the end device allow the installation of an electronic circuit to be simulated graphically beforehand.

Production and series quality

Throughout the entire production process, a PPS system guarantees short throughput times, coordination of the schedule and cost-efficient use of resources. To ensure uniform and consistent quality, production is carried out in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, ESD standard DIN EN 61340-5-1 and IPC-A-610, including a certified in-house trainer.

Component management

We work with long-term framework agreements to ensure supply reliability. We keep an eye on delivery times and reach out to our customers early. However, should an unexpected bottleneck occur, we will proactively provide you with alternative suggestions to ensure your supply remains reliable.

Group

Product qualification

During the development process, we take great care to ensure that the product meets the specific EMC and protection class requirements. Prototype and sample assemby testing during development and subsequent product certification ensure the successful market launch of the product.

Group

Product approvals

In order to successfully place a product we have developed on the market, we carry out all the required domestic and international conformity tests (e.g. CE, EMC, UL, CSA) with the help of our service partners. We utilize our excellent network of partners and laboratories as well as our many years of experience in the interference suppression of power electronics in DC vehicle electrical system applications and AC network applications.

FAQs

What do the power electronics do?

Power electronics is a branch of electrical engineering that deals with the conversion of electrical energy using switching electronic components. Typical applications are frequency converters for electric drives, inverters, switching regulators and switching power supplies. Transmitters or audio amplifiers - even if they have higher power - do not count as power electronics.

What is the difference between a rectifier and an inverter?

Rectifiers and inverters are power electronics components. A rectifier converts alternating current to direct current; an inverter converts direct current to alternating current.

What is an EMS service?

EMS stands for Electronic Manufacturing Service. An EMS service refers to the production of electrotechnical flat assemblies. However, a good EMS service provider offers much more than just PCB assembly. Our expertise includes advanced manufacturing services and product development.

What are SMD and THT components?

SMD and THT components are used in manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies. SMD stands for Surface Mounted Device. THT is the abbreviation for Through-Hole Technology.

What is SMD assembly?

For SMD assembly (surface mounted devices), tiny surface-mounted components (capacitors, resistors, integrated circuits, transistors) are placed on a printed circuit board (PCB) and then soldered in a reflow oven.

What is THT assembly?

For THT (Through-Hole Technology) assembly, wired components are usually placed manually into pre-drilled holes on a PCB and then soldered as an assembly by machine in a wave soldering system. This process is more time-consuming and therefore less cost-efficient than machine SMD assembly and production.

What is a thin-film coating?

A thin layer of lacquer is applied to an electronic printed circuit board (PCB) by means of a process known as thin-film coating. This usually consists of a sprayable, fluorescent and air-drying varnish and serves to protect against moisture. Due to the flow properties of the lacquer during processing, a number of boundary conditions must be taken into account when designing the flat assembly.

What is an in-circuit test?

An in-circuit test is usually carried out following the visual inspection of a newly manufactured printed circuit board. This test is designed to verify the electrical function of the components used, thus ensuring high production quality.

What are printed circuit board components?

Depending on the function, a large number of different components can be fitted on a printed circuit board (integrated circuits, transistors, capacitors, resistors, diodes, inductive components or even microprocessors and memory elements). They can be found on almost all electronic devices (computers, cell phones). The copper tracks on the circuit board are used to electrically connect the components to each other and to transmit signals.

What type of certifications are there?

A certificate can be issued if conformity with the applicable standards is established. Certifications can vary greatly depending on the device, market or test requirements. For example, EMC testing is a key step for electronic devices.

Which bodies issue recognized certification?

Anyone can issue a certificate that is not regulated by law. However, official certification is usually recognized on a legal basis. Experts with specialist knowledge inspect the product to ensure that it meets the requirements and guidelines of the market.

Why is certification necessary?

The issuance of recognized certification attests to the quality of a product. It can also give you a competitive advantage as a manufacturer. Certificates such as TÜV, CE, UL or CCC may even be mandatory to obtain market approval for a product.

What are development tests?

EMC and environmental tests can be carried out with the first prototypes during the development phase. The aim is to use the knowledge gained to guide further development processes and to obtain all certifications without complications before the market launch with a pre-series device.

What is obsolescence management?

Obsolescence management focuses on the discontinuation of electronic components. In the event of delivery bottlenecks, good obsolescence management ensures that alternative solutions are readily available. The costs and risks of termination are minimized.
